This is the ALTEC 843B THE MALIBU,
a 2-way, 3-speaker system released by ALTEC.
The Malibu is a historic, high-grade speaker system
among ALTEC’s large speaker systems.
At the time, while the company was mainly selling
the A7 professional theater speaker,
it also produced models that were made smaller and lighter
for home use.
Beginning with the Magnificent,
many models in the same series were released,
including the Flamenco, Seville, and Valencia.
Among this series, the Malibu is especially rare,
as very few units appeared on the market.
This is a rare Altec Green 16Ω model
equipped with the 605A Duplex and N1600C.
Despite its vintage age,
the enclosure, speaker cone paper, edges, and diaphragms
are all in exceptionally good condition.
As can be seen from the photos,
the exterior is also very clean.
