This item is the ALTEC 9844 monitor speaker system released by ALTEC.
The 9844 is one of the more popular models among ALTEC’s monitor-type speaker systems.
It features rare 3000H tweeters,
a special 800Hz crossover that makes generous use of Black Beauty capacitors,
rare wooden horns, and ALTEC 804A drivers.
The front section of the cabinet has been specially laminated using Douglas fir plywood.
Although this is a vintage item, the enclosures, speaker cone paper,
edges, and diaphragms are all in exceptionally excellent condition.
As can be judged from the photos, the exterior condition is also very clean.
