This item is the 846A Valencia, a 2-way, 2-speaker system released by ALTEC.
The Valencia is one of ALTEC’s most historic and highest-grade mid-sized speaker systems. At the time, ALTEC mainly sold professional-use speakers for theaters, but due to strong demand from its many devoted fans, this representative model was finally released for home use in a smaller and lighter form.
The units are ALTEC Green 16Ω models: the 806A and 416-Z.
The grille features an impressive lattice design with an elegant mosaic pattern, giving it a truly refined appearance. Its dignified exterior beautifully enhances the charm of the sound it produces.

This item is one of the earliest models, using Douglas fir plywood for the top and side panels.
The cabinets are a fully matched pair with consecutive serial numbers, and the units also have very close serial numbers from the same production lot.
This is an extremely rare one-owner pair.
Despite its age, the enclosures, speaker cone paper, and surrounds are all in outstanding condition. As you can judge from the photos, the exterior is also very beautiful.
