ALTEC A8 VOICE OF THE THEATER

16Ω, made with all solid American pine plywood for excellent sound projection.

This item is a very rare pair of thin-type bass reflex 2-way systems from the late 1960s, the ALTEC A8, released by ALTEC.

Among the “Voice of the Theater” systems, which were introduced starting in 1945, the A8 is the most compact model.

The concept behind the “Theater” project was to create the finest speakers for theatrical use.

Even today, the dynamic sound pressure and quality of these speakers continue to captivate many audio enthusiasts.

Production of the A8 was far more limited compared to the A5 or A7, making them extremely rare today.

The woofer uses the ALTEC 416Z—a highly regarded ALTEC woofer also found in models like the Valencia.
