JBL D1002 Speaker Pair – Early Decal Model

Overview

This is an extremely rare JBL D1002 two-way speaker cabinet system, released by JBL from around 1948 to the early 1950s.

This is an early model featuring the 001 system configuration, solder-type terminals, and decal-type units. The sound quality represents JBL’s earliest D Series, created in pursuit of true sonic realism. It delivers a clear, refined, and high-quality sound.

This is one of JBL’s early series units and was developed during the period when Mr. Lansing was involved with the company. It is also one of the early Signature Series units.

Both the speaker cone paper and edges are in excellent condition, with no sagging, hardening, or deterioration. As can be seen in the photos, the exterior is also very clean and well preserved.

This is a rare early gray-type model featuring solder terminals and a Jimlan decal label.

The network is the rare decal-type model. It uses excellent components, including high-voltage non-polar capacitors and low-loss oriented-core coils.

Enclosure Specifications

Despite its age, both the exterior and interior of the enclosures are in very good condition.

The enclosures, speaker cone paper, and edges are all in exceptionally excellent condition. As can be seen in the photos, the overall appearance is very clean. We have included many exterior photos, so please review them to confirm the condition.
