This item is the JBL 4310, a studio monitor speaker system released by JBL in the early 1970s. It is a masterpiece from the early 70s series, a time when JBL began focusing heavily on producing professional studio monitors. The 431X series, including this model, was built with the extensive knowledge gained from JBL’s previous work with theater speakers, and represents a well-crafted medium-sized near-field monitor.
Among the 431X series, the 4310 is the only model that features all-Alnico magnets, making it especially rare. It also served as the prototype for later models in the 43XX series, as well as the famous L100 Century, making this a highly collectible and historically significant piece.
